Some people go to egg freezing because they’re not ready. Others do it because of a diagnosis they didn’t see coming. Either way, Cryopreservation gives you a real chance at future parenthood.

Bliss Fertility Preservation has helped hundreds preserve their fertility, safely, with empathy and medical precision. From egg freezing to long-term storage, we walk with you through every choice. And yes, we make sure practical questions like IVF cost in Kerala are addressed honestly, right from the start.

How the Procedure of Cryopreservation of Gametes and Embryos Works?

Cryopreservation is just a way to freeze and store your eggs, sperm, or embryos, so you can use them later when the time is right. It’s used when you’re not ready for pregnancy right now, or if you’re about to undergo something like cancer treatment that could affect your fertility preservation.

Gamete Freezing - If you’re freezing sperm, it’s pretty simple. You give a sample, and in the lab, we clean it, check its health, and then freeze it using a process called vitrification. That just means we freeze it really quickly to avoid any damage. Once it’s frozen, it’s stored in a special tank at a very low temperature. It stays safe there for years.

Egg freezing takes a little more preparation. First, we use hormone injections to help your ovaries produce multiple eggs. When the eggs are ready, we do a small procedure to collect them, it usually takes under 20 minutes and is done under light sedation. After that, we freeze the mature eggs right away using the same vitrification method.

Embryo freezing comes after IVF. Once the eggs are fertilised and start developing into embryos, we monitor them closely in the lab. When they reach a certain stage, we freeze the ones that are developing well. Those embryos can be transferred later, next month, or even years down the line. For a lot of people, it means fewer IVF cycles and a stronger sense of control.

Why Cryopreservation Helps More Than You Realise; its Benefits Explained

  • It gives you breathing room. Not everyone is ready to have a child just because their body clock says so. Embryo Cryopreservation buys you time, not forever, but enough to feel like you have control. That matters when everything else feels uncertain.

  • It’s a lifeline when life turns upside down. People prefer egg freezing or sperm freezing before cancer treatment, or surgery, or just when something big shows up uninvited. It’s not about being hopeful. It’s about being prepared.

  • It saves you from repeating pain. IVF isn’t easy. The injections, the waiting, the tests, it takes a toll. If you’ve made good embryos, freezing them means you don’t have to go through it all again.

  • It lowers the pressure in the moment. Knowing your embryos are safe gives you room to think. You don’t have to make everything work right now. And that makes a huge emotional difference.

  • It keeps the door open. Whether you’re 28 or 38, certain or unsure, this keeps the door from closing too soon. That’s all some people really want.

FAQs, Cryopreservation of Gametes and Embryos

  1. Is freezing safe? Like, won’t it mess up the quality?

That’s a common fear. But no, modern freezing (we call it vitrification) works really well. Egg freezing, sperm freezing, and embryos all stay safe when done right.

  2. How long can I keep them frozen?

Technically, for many years. We’ve seen healthy babies born from embryos that were frozen for over 10 years. The limit is more personal than medical.

  3. I’m not married. Can I still freeze my eggs?

Absolutely. You don’t need to be married or planning a baby now. Many single women freeze their eggs just to keep the option open.

  4. What happens when I want to use my frozen embryo?

We’ll thaw it and transfer it to your uterus, like any other IVF cycle. It doesn’t hurt, and success rates are pretty solid these days.

  5. Will this guarantee I can have a baby later?

No one can guarantee that, and anyone who does isn’t being honest. But it gives you a much better chance than doing nothing.
